Camping back country versus aVirginia State Park campground may set this list apart. If you are hauling everything you need on your back, versus parking it, then it is an altogether different list. For my list I wanted to share a few park campground essentials.
Keeping it simple, the all-important tent becomes essential
A tablecloth, chairs for the camp site and even a fan were important to these campers
Aluminum foil was essential to make the best potatoes at this camp
A clothesline is especially important when camping near water
Keeping the hot sun or the rain off the tent is essential at this camp site
A hammock was a must-have for these campers near the rustling river
Some basics that are important when we camp are:
- SPORKS – the utilitarian utensil.
- WATER BOTTLES – formerly known as the canteen.
- WATERPROOF MATCHES – fire starters when we need them.
- LANTERNS – now they have those cool LED ones where you never have to mess with the "mantle" again.
- GRILLS – cook top stoves using propane cylinders that can be used anywhere, and make the best bacon and eggs in the world.
What items can you add to this list? Feel free to share your essential must-haves with us on our Facebook Page here.
