Clean up efforts are underway at Pocahontas State Park.
Since Monday, park staff have been busy cleaning up debris left by Hurricane Irene. The park officially reopened on Thursday, September 1st since closing on the afternoon of Friday, August 26th. The campground is open and ready for the upcoming holiday weekend. The pool, boat rentals and trails remain closed. The pool and boat house are closed due to the power outage. The trails are closed because of debris and down trees that make trail accessibility for park visitors hazardous.
