Come out to the Beach at Holliday Lake State Park on Friday August 10, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. and enjoy a lovely night under the stars beside a roaring bonfire.
Bonfire on the Beach at Holliday Lake State Park
Native Americans lived nearby, early settlers farmed and worked the land, Civil War soldiers marched by on their way to Appomattox Court House, young men worked hard to build the lake in the 1930's andour campground opened in the 1970's. Many area families have enjoyed the park over the years, much like we do today. While enjoying the roaring fire, let's reflect on those who have come before us. We'll also talk about what we are doing to keep Holliday Lake State Park a prime location for visitors to enjoy the outdoors into the future. You will not want to miss this special program. It happens only once a year! Bring your own blanket or lawn chair for seating. You're welcome to stay until the embers burn low.
