Resolutions – – Goals – – Plans – – To Do Lists – – Maps – – Obligations
I hope you are not dreading this new year, feeling overwhelmed with more to do lists and things to finish, accomplish and achieve.

I was reading one of those very helpful time management articles "Time Management Ninja and on the header it states it will "Help you win the battle against wasted time, disorganization, and all other things evil…"
I read the list of the 12 things I "needed to do" and felt like I was some sort of sloth for spending time with my family over the holidays and that I needed to move move move, stop wasting time, stop letting those evil side trackers deter me from my goals. I got pretty wound up and stressed and then thought "Hold the bus! I am here reading this thinking about all the endless things I have not completed or finished from 2011 how can I possibly face 2012? Should I re-read and memorize this list and be a better more organized human being? Not prone to distractions?"
So I can put my nose to the grindstone and just do what I need to do to get it done, or I can take pause when the opportunity arises and learn more about what is out there, by virtual means if necessary.
Now to the point of this article: I began my 21 natural area preserves.
Due to seeing shared stories and photos about Virginia State Parks I was determined to get outside and visit one. We did, then another, then another and another. We have a family goal (like many of you do) to visit each and every one of the 35 Virginia State Parks.
I won't obsess and make a time-line, I do have it in my sight to visit the latest state park to accept online reservations (starting in the Spring for the cabins and lodge) and already accepting reservations for the campground is "Breaks Interstate Park" which is known as the "Grand Canyon of the South" and features a five mile gorge plunging to 1650 feet. River rafting, birding, hiking, and even horseback riding!
