A Call to Lead…A story is about to unfold. Leaders within the community gather to research, share and tell the story behind the Virginians who lived and worked at, in and on the North Anna River / Lake and its surrounding communities and businesses.
On Martin Luther King Day, January 17, 2011, Lake Anna State Park would like to invite local residents, community groups, schools, historical organizations and individuals to gather for a Historical Reflection on life of Lake Anna. Share photos, family memorabilia and stories, to collaboratively develop a historical legacy for park visitors and community residents to enjoy in the years to come.
The park is looking for volunteers to help with this program by developing a historical resource committee comprised of a variety of individuals and groups willing to lend a hand in developing future programs, events and displays.
This celebration will be part of an on going series of events scheduled during, the 75th Anniversary of Virginia State Parks. (1936 -2011) The program will be from 1pm to 4pm at the Visitor Center. For more information or to volunteer please contact Cathy Corker at (540)854-6245 or Lake Anna State Park or call (540)854-5503.
