Come visit the historic St. Nicholas visits for the Christmas Season. Children can have their pictures taken with our Civil War period predecessor to “Santa Claus” while enjoying decorations and apple cider. This program runs from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday and 1 to 4 pm on Sunday. While the program is free, a small donation can be made to Friends of Sailor’s Creek Battlefield at the house.
At the same time, on December 4th, from 10 am to 4 pm in the new Visitor Center, the park will be hosting an open house in conjunction with the state’s and Amelia County’s Sesquicentennial 150th American Civil War commemoration. The CW 150th Legacy Project, led by the Library of Virginia, allows participants to bring historical family documents to the park and have them scanned for the state library’s collection.Appointments are encouraged and a limited number of walk-ins will be accommodated.
