Dance in the Moonlight at Belle Isle State Park's
Saturday Night "Music by the River" Series
If you're like me, the prospect of going to a large concert venue with huge speakers blasting "off the charts" decibels is not appealing, but the idea of getting outdoors, listening to some local tunes on a small stage, and hanging out with family holds great appeal.
Belle Isle State Parkis kicking off the summer season with the "Music by the River" series. Located in the picnic area bordering the Rappahannock River, the "Music by the River" series is a fun family event and is open to people who are camping or just visiting for the evening.
Listen to sounds of the outdoor symphony of birds, insects, and the waves slapping the shorelines and then tune in for a rollicking good time with the featured bandduring each concert date.
Theconcerts are free and the Friends of Belle Isle State Park is offering soft drinks for 50 cents. There will also be free popcorn and free children's activities. So pack a picnic dinner and head out for some "Music by the River." Concerts are 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
