Sponsors and Volunteers Needed for First Landing's Fall Fest
Are you crafty? Do you can, pickle, or preserve? Do you have "harvest skills"like pumpkin carving or cider making? Do you make soap? Have some great apple pie recipes? If so, we need you!!
First Landing State Park is holding its annual Fall Festival on Saturday, October20, 2012from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and we are looking for volunteers, exhibitors and sponsors. In honor of the opening of the new Trail Center and to promote the great outdoors, we want this year's event to be the best ever and have exhibitors and activities at the Trail Center AND the picnic area.
Calling all pumpkins
Exhibit space is free, but products or activities have aharvest/autumn theme.Thisevent isnot a "fright fest", please no scaryHalloween type exhibits.
We need also needsponsors to donate or help defray the costs of pumpkins, hay bales, and craft supplies. Sponsorsget a free boothto distribute their company information.
Volunteers are needed to help with children's activities and with the information booths.

First Landing State Park Directions:
LOCATION: From I-64, take Northampton Blvd.-U.S. 13 North (Exit 282). Go through eight lights, then turn right at the Shore Drive/U.S. 60 exit (last exit before the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel). Take a right on Shore Drive and go four and a half miles to the park entrance. To reach the Chesapeake Bay Center, park office, camping or cabins, turn left off U.S. Rt. 60 at the stoplight and check in at the contact station. For the Trail Center, picnic area and trails, turn right instead.
Drive Time: Northern Virginia, three and a half hours; Richmond, two hours; Tidewater/Norfolk/Virginia Beach, 20-30 minutes (this facility is in the area); Roanoke, five and a half hours.
