There are as many programs to choose from as the parks we have, but there are a few activities you can count on at all or most parks.
1) TRAIL QUEST. Earn 5 unique pins for visiting state parks. Sign up on our Virginia Outdoors site and collect the special code at each park (you can find the code on the clicking here.

2) BLOOMING ADVENTURE geocache game. If your family members are addicted to technology and spending too much time in front of screens, wean them off with an activity where technology meets nature. Our third annual adventure program, Blooming Adventure, will offer new cache and challenges for 2012. Don't own a GPS unit? No problem – we will rent you one so you can make sure you enjoy the activity before investing in the equipment.
3) TAKE A HIKE! All of our parks have trails of all levels to promote a healthy lifestyle and afford an opportunity to see nature up close and personal. Plan your hikes in advance on Virginia Outdoors by printing maps and taking a video tour like this one on Natural Tunnel State Park:
