They say beauty if fleeting, and if you have ever experienced fall in the Northeast you can attest to that being true, but it's a bit different here in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Did you know: The Blue Ridge Parkway has more variety of leafy trees that turn color in the fall than even Japan.
When the leaves burst on the scene in brilliant color up North, they are turning in stages here in Virginia. You will be able to escape the droves of cars on the crowded roads, as well as the throngs of people who congest the countryside there and take in our fall scenery that stretches clear across the state.
FACT: According to the Forest Service in 2007 about 15.7 million acres, or 62 percent, of Virginia was forested. Hardwood forests make up 79% of all Virginia timberland; softwood forests make up 21%.
