First Landing State Park on the Chesapeake Bay
VIRGINIA BEACH — Sitting on a bench in the shade of a towering cypress tree, Kim Purton and Suzie Hanson were hot, tired and sweating.
But they were still smiling.
They had just finished an 8-mile trail run at First Landing State Park, and as hard as the run had been, it put them in a good mood.
"We think the park is great," said Purton, like her friend a Brit whose family is temporarily in Hampton Roads for a military assignment with NATO. "It has loads of trails.
