Intern Experiences a Premieres Concert Featuring Tribute Band
Tribute band, Red NOT Chili Peppers rocked the audience at Pocahontas Premieres.
I am currently working as a Visitor Services Specialist intern with Red Not Chili Pepperswas playing and the concert was more than I had imagined. Originally I thought that I was just going to be taking pictures the entire time, but that was not the case. To my surprise, I was able to go backstage to meet the band. I learned they had traveled from their last gig and hadn’t slept in over 36 hours just to play at the Heritage Amphitheater. This gave me a huge respect for what they do as a profession.
A little rain shower didn't keep this concert goer from enjoying the concert.
Despite the rain, I found being in the outdoors and listening to the music was a great way to reconnect with my family. When I was younger, I remember spending many summer days at the pool where everyone hung out. Somehow, The Red Hot Chili Peppers would always come on the local radio station with their popular song, “Otherside." When I heard this song being played by the Red NOT Chili Peppers, it brought back memories and started a conversation, with my family, of summers gone by.
It’s not too late to enjoy the rest of the 2014 summer concert series and reconnect with your family and friends at click here. Concerts are held at the Heritage Amphitheater located in the heart of the park.
