Biscuit Run Public Meeting Scheduled for Sept. 19
RICHMOND — The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation will hold a public meeting Monday, Sept. 19, to present a draft master plan for the future Biscuit Run State Park. The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. at the Albemarle County Administration Building, Lane Auditorium, 2nd floor, 401 McIntire Road, Charlottesville.
The Biscuit Run site is 1,200 acres between Route 20 and Old Lynchburg Road in Albemarle County.
A master plan is written for each state park and serves a guide for development for approximately 20 years. Plans are reviewed every five years. An advisory committee of local residents and representatives of different park user groups assists with master-plan development.
The meeting also will include a presentation of the Biscuit Run site analysis and phasing recommendations. Attendees will have the opportunity to give feedback duringa portion of the meeting. DCR will accept written feedback through Sept. 30.
The Sept. 19 meeting will be the second public meeting for the Biscuit Run project. The first meeting was held in June.
