By Joey Dayton, Assistant Park Manager, Bear Creek Lake State Park
Do you love the great outdoors and Bear Creek Lake State Park? Are you looking for a way to get your entire family outdoors and connected to nature? Want to give back to your community and make a difference? Then this is the opportunity for you!
The Friends of Bear Creek Lake is an organization whose primary function is to support the operation of the park. Currently there are a handful of dedicated members but we need more!
The Friends group raises funds and operates the park’s archery range to provide financial and logistical support to the park. You will frequently find its members volunteering their service in planning and running special events, making bluebird boxes, planting trees, and creating wildflower gardens to attract wildlife.
The group meets the second Wednesday of every month at 7:00 pm at click here or by email [email protected] or by contacting the park’s volunteer coordinator at
