Fog lifting off Hungry Mother Lake, Hungry Mother State Park
Confession time – before I started working for Virginia State Parks fifteen years ago I had never stepped foot in one of our State Parks. I was born and raised in Virginia and I had never experienced one of our great parks. I'd been in local parks and in most of our National Parks but no state parks.
I had no idea what they were all about. In my defense, that was around the time Virginia Association of Broadcasters that kicked off close to two decades of helping spread the word. And now one of my jobs as Marketing Director is to work hard to continue to spread the word about our parks (without breaking the bank).
