Interesting things happen at the confluence of waterways. For larger species, they can be gateways to their favorite breeding grounds. Smaller creatures follow them to a wider world of danger and opportunity. Animals and plants from diverse environments are brought together at these locations making them wonderful places for nature lovers.
In celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Virginia State Parks, Eclipse Jazz Quartet at 5 p.m.. Our Amphitheater is located behind the visitor's center. Be sure to bring your cameras to enjoy wonderful vistas of the marsh and river. A family of osprey may also provide exciting photo opportunities before and after the performances. Bring an appetite too. Johnson's Kitchen of West Point will be on hand selling the best crab cakes in the area.
For those who want a closer waterway experience, we will also offer guided canoe and kayak trips on Taskinas and the York. Rental boats are also available. Join us for a unique confluence of music, waters, and seafood.
