Imagine paddling down Mulberry Creek to the Rappahannock River to watch the beautiful colors of the sunset. After taking pictures of your friends silhouetted in front of the setting sun, you turn around to see a full moon rising. This is just the beginning of the Full Moon Canoe and Kayak trips at Belle Isle State Park, located in the Northern Neck of Virginia.
Join us for a full moon paddle
As you paddle under a full moon reflected on the creek, you can learn more about the moon’s influence on tides, people and folk lore. Is there a man in the moon, or is there a woman living on the moon? Is the moon really made of green cheese, and where did that story come from? What are the rose moon, blue moons, and honeymoons? All of these and more are explored during the programs.
Explore Mulberry Creek
