Belle Isle State Park has three great concerts planned for July for its Music by the River series. The park has seven miles of waterfront, most of it on the tidal Rappahannock River. Concert goers can bring picnics and blankets or chairs and listen to music in view of the “Rivah”, as it is called by locals. A games and crafts area is available for kids, although the number of adults playing games such as tug-of-war often matches the number of kids.
All concerts are free and begin at 6 p.m.
Sweet Justice
July 16, 2011
Sweet Justice is a hot band that performs classic rock from the 60s, 70s and 80s. They play everything from one-hit wonders to tunes by arena rock heroes. Their high energy, twin guitar attack, pounding rhythms and tight harmonies take you back to the days when music had more substance and meaning. Their eclectic musical collection reminds listeners of carefree days gone by.
