Douthat Lakeview Restaurant will open on Friday, April 3 for dinner and opening day for fee fishing at Douthat State Park will begin on Saturday, April 4.
Fee fishing begins at 9 a.m. until one hour after sunset and a Virginia Freshwater Fishing License and a Daily Permit is required to fish.
Everyone is required to have a daily permit except children 12 and under who are with a licensed and permitted adult. Young adults age 13 to 15 are required to have a Daily Permit.
A Virginia Freshwater Fishing License is $18 and a Daily Permit is $6.50 and both can be purchased at Douthat Camp Store or online at www.dgif.gov. There is a limit of six trout per day.
A separate area for children only is located between the low-water bridge at Camp Carson and the base of the spillway at Douthat State Park. Only children 12 and under are permitted to fish this area under the supervision of a licensed and permitted adult.

The restaurant will be open from April 3 through Memorial Day on Friday’s for dinner and Saturday and Sunday’s for brunch, lunch, and dinner.
From Memorial Day through Labor Day the restaurant will be open Wednesday through Friday for lunch and dinner and Saturday and Sunday for brunch, lunch, and dinner.
After Labor Day through October 31 the restaurant will be open on Friday’s for dinner and on Saturday and Sunday’s for brunch, lunch, and dinner.
