As a senior at Virginia State Parks offer a range of free and low cost guided hikes, kayak trips, history tours, and more. Large groups can book private programs by contacting the individual park.

Canoeing/Kayaking – Need to get outside and relax? Imagine birds chirping, the smell of salt water, and a pinkish sunset all while gliding on top of the water. Most coastal, river, and lakefrontVirginia State Parks offer guided kayaking and canoe trips in late spring through early fall. Call the park in advance to book to a private program or check out their schedule of regular public programs.

By booking outdoor adventures, your chapter members won’t even realize that they are getting their daily dose of exercise.Most parks even have adventure packs that you can check out. These packs are full offield guides,binoculars, and other equipment to enhance your day at the park.

Festivals/Special Events – Looking for some unique entertainment that lasts all day?Virginia State Parks festivals range from rollicking fun music festivals and tractor pulls to history themed re-enactmentsand artisan craft festivals. Fill your car with pledges, fraternity and sorority members and split the cost.Pack a picnic lunch and spend the day strolling the grounds and stopping at different vendors.
