Come out to Holliday Lake State Park to celebrate Mothers Day on Sunday, May 8! Get outside and enjoy nature and fresh air. Isn't that just what Mom wants?
We have planned a guided hike to the dam that begins at 1:00 p.m.at Shelter # 1. Our interpretive staff will take you to the dam that made Holliday Lake in the 1930s. They will talk about the young men who made the dam and how proud their moms were of them! We will see many interesting things in nature along the way! This is a 6-mile hike so wear comfortable shoes, dress for the weather, and bring WATER, snacks, sunscreen, etc.
After the hike, mom can relax for a few minutes while the kids make a fun nature-themed craft and learn about Holliday Lake State Park. This will be at 3:00 p.m. at the Amphitheater. Mom can help out with the craft or just relax and enjoy nature. Both of these programs are free and open to anyone (with mom or without).
Call Holliday Lake State Park at 434-248-6308 if you have any questions about these or any programs at Holliday Lake State Park. You can also check out our events database to find programs here or at any state park.
