A few lucky children found special golden eggs when Staunton River Battlefield State Park hosted their annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 31.

Visitors enjoyed a variety of games including Easter fishing, egg coloring, tattoos, and the beanbag toss.There was a cakewalk, live bunnies, and the Easter Bunny himself made an appearance. There were over 2280 eggs hidden on the park grounds.

Golden egg winners were: Ages 0-3 Braelynn Jones, ages 4-7 Jordan Lewis, and ages 8-10, MaKayla Edmonds. Winners received a custom-made Easter basket. Mt. Laurel Ruritan Club was on hand selling concessions from their food wagon. Punch and an Easter cake were served for refreshments.
LOCATION: Eighteen miles east of South Boston. Take Route 92 to Clover. Go approximately five miles to Route 600 and turn left. Go about another three miles and turn right on Route 855.
