Our customer surveys tell us that our trails continue to be the most popular activity in our Virginia State Parks and we have more than a thousand miles of them with access to even more. I met Daniela through our mutual love for animals and stumbled on the happy coincidence that she and her dog Shawnee loved to hike and write about their hikes.
If you are a serious hiker, you should check out her blog Gone Hikin'. There are some wonderful details and significant planning information for hikes mostly in the northeast.
This is their fourth visit to Virginia and she used James River State Park as a base camp for a little over a week's worth of hiking – 63 miles! Virginia is blessed with all variety of public lands and in this trip she and Shawnee experience two state parks, two National parks and a variety of National Forest hikes.
This post features a link to all the hikes she and Shawnee enjoyed during their trip to Virginia over Easter. We had some volatile weather and some very hot days which seems to be a pattern for her Virginia visits.
In addition to Daniela's blog, Shawnee puts a different spin on the hikes. If you missed my post yesterday, be sure and check out her blogs about their hikes.
When you hike 63 miles in a week, it's nice to be able to relax on the porch
