Virginia State Park cabins are the center of life for a family like ours, from the morning coffee on the porch to the s’mores around the campfire at the end of a fun-filled day.
I first discovered dog Yoda. It caught my eye because Yoda was actually relaxing in the cabin with his family. I had inquired at various neighboring states who offered overnight accommodations and none allowed pets in the cabins. From then on I was sold.
From that time forward we have stayed at many Virginia State Parks that offer cabins and made day trips from there to those parks that did not. We enjoy them year-round, our anniversary and both daughters' birthdays are in January, so that is a great month for us to visit a Virginia State Park for a weekend getaway.
From the rustic CCC cabins with their wood burning fireplaces and the character found dwelling within their hand hewn log walls to the newer cabins with large open kitchens, vaulted pine ceilings and wrap around porches, we love staying overnight at Virginia State Parks.
