Come hike at trails ranging from easy to difficult with just over six miles being designated as equestrian trails along the 1864 acre park.
Hiking at Sky Meadows State Park
The park’s trails are divided into two sections: the Westside Trails and the Eastside Trails.
The Westside Trails make up the majority of the trails with a total length of 12.81 miles. The trails include: Ambassador White House Trail, the Appalachian Trail, Capt. James Ball Trail, Gap Run Trail, North Ridge Trail, Old Trail, Piedmont Overlook Trail, Snowden Trail, South Ridge Trail, Boston Mill Road Trail, and Woodpecker Lane Trail.
All Westside Trails are for hikers only except Woodpecker Lane Trail which also allows bikers.

The Eastside Trails include: Rolling Meadows Trail, Shearman’s Mill Trail, Lost Mountain Trail, Washington’s Ridge Trail, Hayfield Trail, and Old Pasture Trail.
All Eastside Trails are designed for equestrians except for Shearman’s Mill Trail. These trails have been described as a “horseback rider’s delight” with the majority of trails made up of grass. The trails start from the parking lot east of Highway 17.

Sky Meadows State Park is located at 11012 Edmonds Lane, Delaplane, VA 20144-0710. The park is less than two miles south of Paris, Va., via U.S. Route 50 to Route 17 South; or seven miles north of I-66, Exit 23 on Route 17 North. The park entrance is on State Route 710.
