If you haven’t made plans for a spring break cabin getaway at a Virginia State Park, it’s not too late. For most families with school aged children, spring break is usually the week before or after Easter, so roughly the period April 3-19th in 2009.
This is always a busy time at Virginia State Parks both for camping and cabin vacations. It seems to fill the “let’s celebrate the arrival of spring and get back to nature” yearning. Virginia State Parks has nearly 300 vacation cabins for a two night quick getaway or longer.
Our cabins are rustic. Our original six parks feature hewn log or frame cabins built by the Civilian Conservation Corps more than 70 years ago (on line reservation system). If you can be flexible with which days of the week, they can find you a cabin even if the weekends are all booked up. So it’s not too late, but I wouldn’t wait much longer to plan that unique spring vacation.
