Dominion Virginia Power recently partnered on a volunteer project for the park. The local Dominion office volunteered to constructand supply six benches. Dominion crews also installed the benches along the park. The benches were placed near newly added vault toilets at High Bridge Trail.
Public/Private partnerships are a great way to generate networking relationships and a sense of community for those involved. They are also a great way for some amenities to be provided at the park with little impact on a park staff’s time.
“Volunteerism provides such a valuable resource to our parks. There are some things that we have a hard time getting the time to do” according to park manager Eric Hougland. “and a partnership like this one even supplied the materials for constructing the new benches. I look forward to working with Dominion in the future.”
