It is better to have something and not need it than to need something and not have it. We hope everyone will have pleasant and safe visits to our Virginia State Parks. But, should a situation arise where emergency care is needed, many of our park staff are trained to give needed care until an ambulance arrives.
Staunton River were in attendance. Our instructors were Cameron Swain and Kyle Barbour from False Cape and Maurice Suggs from York River. For most, this was a refresher class. Only a few first-timers were present. The lessons were given through video presentation, classroom discussion, and hands-on instruction.
Thanks to our experienced instructors and our focus on the importance of the topic, all of the staff who attend passed the test and will receive their official certification from the Red Cross. Visitors can expect to rest and rejuvenate at a State Park. Our personnel are prepared for the unexpected as well.
