According to Wikipedia, “Cercis canadensis L. (Eastern Redbud) is a large shrub or small tree native to eastern North America from Southern Ontario, Canada south to northern Florida.” Large clusters of petite purple-red flowers characterize this tree which is one of the first to flower in the earky spring.
