While many cabins in Virginia State Parks have already been booked for the summer, thanks to all of the new cabins added over the last few years, there is still an opportunity to book rentals for the summer.
Some customers may be confused by our summer rental policy. We take reservations for cabins eleven months in advance. Between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend, advance cabin reservations are for one week only. However, when it is within the month before you want to stay in the park, you can book for less than a week, with a two night minimum.
For example, today is May 26. If you are planning to arrive before June 26, you can book for less than a week, as long as you stay at least two nights.
Our reservation software is partly to blame. In order to have the week stay rule, we can’t program the less than a month rule. So, if you want to book your cabin for less than a week you will need to call the Reservation Center at 800-933-7275. You can see what is available on line though.
You will find Virginia State Park cabins very affordable. For approximately $100 per night, you can bring as many as six people to stay in a two bedroom cabin. Cabins have air conditioning and a full kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave, pots and pans, dishes and glassware. You can bring your pets for $10 per pet per night.
In addition to two bedroom cabins (and some of our historic cabins come in one bedroom and efficiency sizes), we offer family lodges that sleep between 15 and 16 people. These are perfect for large family getaways and reunions.
A cabin stay is a great base for the wonderful things to do in and around the park. It is a true escape from the hectic world and a great chance for real family time without a TVand telephone.
You can make reservations on line, or call our Reservations and Information line at 800-933-7275 Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Reservation Counselors can help find cabins in the area of the state for the dates you need.
