Virginia State Parks with swimming beaches and pools are offering a special promotion this summer to help beat the heat.
Visit any Virginia State Park swimming facility between now and Labor Day weekend and receive a coupon good for $1 off swimming that can be used on any future date the rest of this season. If you are an overnight visitor staying in a cabin or camping and don’t pay for swimming, we will still give you one coupon per person when you receive your swimming passes.
This promotion cannot be used in conjunction with group rates or any other special rates or promotions.
Enjoy pool swimming at:Chippokes Plantation, Westmoreland, Pocahontas, Staunton River and Natural Tunnel state parks. Enjoy our lake swimming beaches at Lake Anna, Bear Creek Lake, Holliday Lake, Twin Lakes, Fairy Stone, Smith Mountain Lake, Douthat, Claytor Lake and Hungry Mother state parks. These parks have certified life guards on staff to supervise the pools and beaches. Click here for a state map that shows where are parks are located.
Swimming is a weather dependent activity. Swimming areas will close for inclement weather and for thunder/lightning. Sometimes other emergencies also come up that require closing our swimming facilities. If you are traveling to the park specifically to enjoy swimming, contact the park before you leave home to make sure swimming is available. From mid-August to Labor Day, swimming operations may be reduced at some parks due to reduced lifeguard availability.
We also offer unguarded swimming in the Chesapeake Bay at Kiptopeke and First Landing state parks. There is no extra swimming charge beyond the daily parking fee at those parks.
