This weekend is shaping up to be quite beautiful. The temperatures are warm and the forecast looks clear for the weekend. This would be the perfect time to get outside and take a break from the mundane indoor routine.
Swimming is not yet open at the parks, but we still have a lot to offer. We have over 500 miles of hiking trails. You can grab your bike, use your legs, or bring your horses to some parks. Wildlife is present at all of our parks along with the beautiful signs of spring breathing its renewal of life into all of Virginia’s flora. Grab your camera and take some breathtaking shots while you are there. Pack some sandwiches and have a picnic, or just bring the kids to explore all that nature has to offer.
We have multiple events occurring at our parks this weekend. Just to highlight a few, there is a fossil walk at here.
So whatever your reason for visiting one of Virginia’ beautiful state parks, take advantage of this weekend’s predicted weather. Camping is available this time of year, so you can even take your family on their first camping trip of the season. What better way to get outdoors and have some fun!
