Virginia State Parks are a blank canvas and await your keen eye! What sort of things do you enjoy photographing at Virginia State Parks?
Photography can be a solitary hobby, or a group sport!
I see a lot of cute pudgy little babies in super sweet little swimsuits being held up in the water at our lakes for some "photo ops" in the summertime. Capturing these moments of fun in the sun will help the memories last a lifetime. We used to call these "Kodak Moments", and we know when we get them, they are like a hole-in-one!
Reading a recent article on 9 Tips for Great Outdoor Photos of Your Kids, they remind us "No portrait studio can beat Mother Nature! Gorgeous backgrounds, fresh air, and natural light bring spontaneous smiles to your children’s faces. Plus, there’s no appointment fee!"

Something to also remember when visiting our state parks, and bringing your camera along is that in this technical age we can take as many photos as we wish with our digital cameras, and not have to pay for every photo to be processed! So for that reason, allow your kids to borrow the camera for a while and see the parks from their perspective! I think you may be surprised at what they see!
A recommendation told to me once was to pick a spot, sit down on a blanket or chair and look close, look far and see all the things there are to see and to photograph them. Too many of us take far away landscape shots, when a simple repeated pattern might be right under our feet!
