Many parks, including Friends groups. These groups aremade up of volunteers who help shore up park projects, programs and management. Funds raised on site by these friends groups – through gift shop sales, special events and other activities – are used for improvements and programs at thepark.
Friends of Shenandoah River State Park(FSRSP) have greatly enhanced community outreach and educational program offerings.
2011 promises to be a great year full of new opportunities to hold exciting, informative programs for park visitors. With this in mind, members have decided to host speakers at the regularly scheduled monthly meetings, who will give presentations on topics of interest.
The meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m., in the park visitor center. The presentations are free and open to the public.
