Meet Willow, Rascal, Dorothy, Peggy and Lisa! Not necessarily in that order, but when you meet them you will find them full of fun, laughter, and a love of Virginia State Parks.
I knew I liked them the moment Dorothy handed me her Nikon DSLR to take their photo
Peggy could not just pose for the photo she had to make everyone laugh
HAPPY CAMPERS
We met these ladies as we were about to take the Molly's Knob Trail. They had other plans; they were going to hike the trail around the lake at trail map pdf here).
This time of year the hardwood forests have amazing mushrooms popping up all over the place, being an amateur mycologist, in other words someone who likes finding and photographing mushrooms (not eating them) we opted for the more wooded trail. I did found an indigo mushroom and a variety of other fungi up on Molly's Knob Trail.
We learned that Lisa and Peggy and the pups live in Richmond and Mom Dorothy lives in South Carolina, so Hungry Mother State Park was the perfect half way point for a camping adventure. "Willow and Rascal are being trained in campground etiquette," Lisa told us "but they're not quite there yet."
We caught back up with them after their hike around the lake at Hungry Mother
Peggy showed us her walking stick that she carved "HM 2008" on it when she got it
These are two lucky dogs!
