As Fall progresses, many migratory songbird species make their annual trek south via the Kiptopeke State Park is an important rest stop for many of these birds on their way to South America.
Through November 22, 2010, volunteers from the Coastal Virginia Wildlife Observatory (CVWO)are conducting research at the Songbird Banding Station. The banding station is open for public visitation from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. daily–weather permitting.
