Ornithologist Joe LaFleur will be visiting several Virginia State Parks in June to host bird walks, showcase his DVDs on Virginia Birds, and to answer questions.

Joe holds degrees in wildlife biology and communications and is the author of Better Birdwatching, a series of DVDs about birds of North America. He has been collecting video and sounds of birds for 20 years and lives in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia.

Saturday, June 2, Bird Walk & Program, False Cape State Park, Virginia Beach
9:00-10:00 a.m. Join DVD author Joe LaFleur for a guided bird tour along the tram ride and walking some of the trails. The tour features hands-on identification of resident and breeding birds in habitats like upland forest, shrub thickets, maritime forest, marshes and wetlands. Beginners are welcome.
10:00-10:30 a.m. Mr. LaFleur will provide an audiovisual program in the Visitor Center about common birds of the area. The program will help you identify birds by sight and sound and will also review preferred habitats where each species is likely to be encountered.
