Thirteenth Annual Lake Run Two Day Car Show at Douthat State Park
The weekend kicks off on Saturday, May 21 at noon with registration at Douthat State Park Office. Show participants need to stop by the main office to receive a registration number and a goody bag.
It’s not too late to register your car before Saturday, May 21 for $13 per vehicle and enjoy both days of the car show. Registration the day of the show will be $15 per vehicle.
The first 175 registered cars will receive a commemorative car show dash plaque. A one hundred dollar bill will be randomly placed in one of the registration goody bags, so make sure to register your vehicles to get a chance at winning the money.
Automobiles have an option of hitting the rinse station before heading up to the beach area to show their classic car.
No Lifeguard On Duty is a rock-and-roll band from Covington performing live on the beach from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and is free of charge on Saturday, May 21. Enjoy music while looking at classic automobiles.
Come back on Sunday, May 22 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration is held from 8 a.m. to noon for those cars that didn’t register on Saturday. Stop by Douthat State Park’s office for your registration number and goody bag.
Big Al from Big Country 101 will be at Douthat State Park from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday doing a remote broadcast with sponsorship by First National Bank.
There will be the Big Country 101 Prize Wheel, a 50/50 drawing, music, a rock wall provided by the Army, Cewinn Graphics will be doing custom designed T-shirts, and Franson Insurance Agency will have a booth set up throughout the weekend.
Douthat Lakeview Restaurant, Double C Café, Covington Junior Women’s Club, and The Clifton Forge Rescue Squad will all be selling food throughout the weekend.
The Car Show is sponsored by Highlands Community Bank, Honda Nissan of Covington, Pence Competition, Franson Insurance Agency, and JENFAB Inc.
