Volunteers will be given equipment for the cleanup.
Each year, Earth Day is a day intended to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth’s natural environment. Even though it’s Earth Day everyday for Leesylvania will be holding special volunteer events to allow you to participate. Come out on Saturday, April 16th at 11 a.m. to the Visitor Center and sign up to volunteer at one of our events.
What’s going on, you ask? Well, roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty! We are going to clean up Leesylvania’s shores and do a trash survey to see how much litter has polluted our river. Not interested in cleaning up? We will also be hosting a volunteer landscaping event with Prince William County Master Gardener, Cindy Patterson. Volunteer to help dig, plant and beautify around our contact station. We need several volunteers for the shorelinecleanup and a handful for the small area of landscaping, but love any help we can get!
Don’t forget to bring the family to the Visitor Center to check out our Earth Day displays.
