The Sky Meadows State Park in Delaplane celebrates its 20th anniversary with two days full of fun and festivity for all ages.

Snack on pizza and fresh wraps and other festival fare; treat yourself to strawberry shortcakes and sundaes, and a bake sale tent with all your favorite treats. A stroll down crafter lane will offer many temptations with a variety of handmade items as well as interesting gifts.
Strawberry Festival Field Events!
True to its festival atmosphere, there will be ample opportunity to wear a pair of dancing shoes!
Attendees can join in the fun of “swing” dancing on Saturday with The John Winnett band and country line and square dancing on Sunday with The Mason Branch BluegrassBand. Other stage entertainment includes: barbershop quartets (male and female); John Luskey (a country rock band that opened for Kenny Chesney); Cobbler Mountain Grass (bluegrass); The Woodshedders, as well as an energetic gospel group, and more.
Young children will love the Discovery Tent with various kinds of interactive entertainment throughout both days including: music, magic, storytelling and demonstrations. There will also be magicians, face-painting, stilt walkers (both to entertain and offer demonstrations and instruction), and even a monkey to entertain as attendees stroll around the park.

Visit the 4H petting zoo, take a hayride, enjoy an antique car show (Saturday only), fuel your competitive urges in family field games (three-legged races, tug-of-war, water balloon tosses, cake-walks, and a maze), and a corn hole tournament (Saturday). Compete in the 5K run/walk held Sunday morning (see the Sky Meadows State Park and the Appalachian Trail.
The festival is held each year on the Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day weekend (May 25 & 26, 2013) 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. each day (rain or shine).

The per-day cost of the festival is $25 per car at the gate ($15 for motorcycles), or $20 in advance (purchase from the website). All of the activities and events (excluding the pony rides) are included in the per car fee.
And don’t forget the strawberries!
You will find gourmet sized strawberries for sale to be enjoyed by themselves or as part of your favorite desserts.
Sky Meadows State Park is located approximately 55 miles west of Washington, D.C. To get there, take Route 66 west to Exit 23 (Delaplane/Paris) and go approximately 6.8 miles to left on Edmonds Lane and to Sky Meadows State Park (11012 Edmonds Lane: Delaplane, Va. 20144).
