Five America's State Parks.
EYP kickoff event on May 21st and is the park featured for its paddling opportunities. From April to October you can rent a canoe or kayak from the park and paddle from Mason Neck, a peninsula with access to the Potomac River, Pohick Bay and Belmont Bay.
South of Mason Neck off Route 1 is another great Virginia State Park, Dominion Resources volunteer event.
Further south down Interstate 95 and then west is Lake Anna State Park, the Explore Your Park featured for Play. Lake Anna is one of the larger of Virginia's recreational lakes and you can boat, fish, swim, hike and stay overnight in our campground or one of our comfortable cabins.
West of Washington, D.C. off Interstate 66 is Sky Meadows State Park. With it's 12 miles of hiking trails and access to the world-famous Appalachian Trail it's easy to see why it was selected to represent Hiking.
Last but not least and farther west along Interstate 66 and a little south of Front Royal is Shenandoah River State Park. The park has beautiful mountain vistas and has canoe in/hike in sites as well as a full service campground for everything from tents to 50 foot RVs. Shenandoah River is our park representing the Camping category in the Explore Your Parks campaign.
Visit a participating retailer in the DC area, make a purchase of a product from The North Face and you will get a Day Pass good at one of these 5 parks and an Explore Your Parks Activity Guide.
And don't forget, all of our parks will have free entrance June 13-June 19th for our 75th Anniversary celebration!
