In the Flora category, Carrie Sheya took the best photograph "Peek a Boo" at Leesylvania State Park.
In the Fauna category, Robert Brown wins both Best Picture and Honorable Mention for these two photographs taken at First Landing State Park. Both shots were taken in August and June of last year, respectively, with a Nikon D7000.
"Yellow crowned night heron with mud crab" was judged best photo.
"Male osprey provides for his family" was awarded honorable mention but I can tell you which picture won which prize was a difficult choice.
