Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Jason Ring will be performing at the amphitheater at Douthat State Park.
Every Saturday evening during the summer special talent from the region is showcased. This week’s special guest will be Jason Ring performing blues, bluegrass, jazz and ragtime music on the shores of Douthat’s lake. According to Jason Ring’s website, “Jason can skillfully play almost any stringed instrument including guitar, banjo, mandolin, dobro and bass. Don’t be surprised if he also throws down on a smooth skat including his impressive ‘mouth trumpet.'” From his birth in Galax, Va. his love and mastery of the Delta Blues and everything in between, Jason is a must-see artist.
Jason Ring At the age of five, by the instruction of his family, Jason started playing bluegrass and piedmont blues. Over time jazz, ragtime, and gypsy swing made its way through Jason’s music.
On Sunday, Sept. 6, join the Rev. Roger Bush from Oak Hill Bible Church for a nondenominational worship service at the beach amphitheater starting at 8 a.m.
