During these economically challenging times, I’m always looking for a bargain, clipping coupons or searching for a cheap date for my husband and I.
Coming up with a cheap date is not always an easy task until I saw the schedule for this weekend’s Richmond Concert Band is featured on Sunday, July 29, 2012 and it’s FREE. You can’t get any cheaper than that.
The Richmond Concert Band will play a FREE concert at the Heritage Amphitheater
at Pocahontas State Park.
Formed in 1971, the Richmond Concert Band is the oldest active community band in the Richmond metropolitan area and has 12-15 performances each year. It is a diverse but united adult community band whose mission is to perform free concerts for the citizens of the metropolitan Richmond area, and to provide a quality and challenging performing experience for local musicians of all ages. With an amazing roster of over 100 musicians ranging in age from 17 to 83 years of age, each concert features 60 to 90 of these musicians from all walks of life.
Concert goers enjoy the grassy knoll of the Heritage Amphitheater.

The park is located in Chesterfield County, about 20 miles from Richmond. It's easily accessible from Interstate 95, Route 288 and Route 360.
