Although it is cold outside, there are still many ways to get out to your local Shenandoah Riverwill be hosting a community-building event about winter birds. From 10 a.m. to noon, families can join us at the new visitor center to learn more about the birds of the Shenandoah Valley. Activities will include the following:
Make your own pinecone birdfeeder
Learn to identify common regional birds and their songs
Participate in a bird count
Learn how to draw woodpeckers and bluejays
Listen to a presentation about birds.
This promises to be both a fun and educational event. Best of all, you can enjoy this program and view our birds, with great views, from inside the warm visitor center. In addition, it will be a great opportunity to socialize with other residents of the Click here fora Google map.
