UPDATE AS OF WEDNESDAY, AUG. 31, 9 p.m.
Pocahontas State Park will reopen for camping 9 a.m. on Sept. 1. The day use area is still without power so we cannot re-open that area of the park at this time. Check the park's website for current information. The park's trails have not been cleared and it could take several weeks to get them back open.
Chippokes Plantation State Park is without power and will be closed through Sept. 1. We can reopen as soon as power is restored. We will be making a decision about Labor Day Weekend by Sept. 2.
York River State Park staff are working to clear fallen trees and the park will be closed until further notice.
Westmoreland State Park will be closed at least until Sept. 13. More information will follow later. The park sustained significant facility damage.
The other 31 Virginia State Parks are open for business as usual!
For the parks that remain closed, please check their individual web page for up to date information or call 800-933-7275. The Reservation Center will be contacting overnight guests to transfer them to other parks, other dates, or process full refunds. Please be patient. Thanks!
