As part of the programming for the upcoming The Jefferson Pools of The Homestead is planned. Participants will experience the legendary mineral spring waters made famous by Thomas Jefferson in 1818. This full day excursion is for the women who decide to arrive early for the weekend festivities.
The Jefferson Pools are natural warm mineral springs and was originally developed as a spa resort in the mid 1750s. It was made famous by Thomas Jefferson who visited the springs to soak in the warm waters to relieve what he described as “rheumatism.” Mr. Jefferson stayed for more than three weeks and visited The Homestead where he enjoyed his meals. To honor their most illustrious patron, the warm springs were named The Homestead’s Jefferson Pools.
