Jobs – we're hiring seasonal staff!
This employee helps with boat and stand up paddle board rentals at Westmoreland State Park
This summer Virginia State Parks will host more than 4 million visitors between Memorial Day and Labor Day and hire approximately 1,000 seasonal staff between April and October to support them.
From lifeguards and snack bar workers to contact rangers and cabin cleaning staff, seasonal positions are available at all 36 state parks. There are varied positions available and can be a good fit for everyone from high school age to senior citizens.
A seasonal park job is a different environment than most summer jobs. Many employees spend significant time working outdoors. Employees receive training in customer service as well as in the areas they will work. Some workers start in high school and work summers through College and occasionally even decide to make a career in State Parks.
”Our seasonal employees are the backbone of our operations. It is a great experience in a great environment” commented State Parks Director Craig Seaver.
A listing of available positions can be found here.
