It starts slowly…usually in late July…one shelf at a time…first some pencils, a few backpacks, a binder or two, some crisp, dark blue jeans…but then come mid-August…there's no mistaking it…IT'S BACK TO SCHOOL TIME…crayons, markers, Ziploc bags, tennis shoes, dorm decor, locker shelves, and even winter coats make their appearance and the quest to get organized and save money is ON!

Douthat State Park on September 23 – 25, 2011. This women-only event is designed to introduce you to outdoor recreation, give you an opportunity learn some new skills, and make you some lifelong friends. After all the back-to-school chaos, you deserve some time out!
Join us at Douthat State Park for a wonderful weekend–we'll go kayaking, canoeing, learn self-defense, cook over open fires, play games, and enjoy the cool mountain air. Most meals are provided and overnight accommodations are in our historic CCC log cabins that feature modern amenities including full kitchens, heating and A/C, full showers, and outdoor decks. Camp sites for RVs and tent camping are also available.
