Volunteers flocked to several state parks located in Central Virginia to make a difference on Martin Luther King Day of Service. On Monday, January 17, 2011 over 60 volunteers came out to four state parks to help with service projects ranging from raking leaves to building benches.
Over 40 volunteers came to High Bridge Trail
This volunteer effort was made possible by a partnership between AmeriCorps and Virginia State Parks. This year’s MLK Day of Service was chosen as the perfect time to highlight volunteer opportunities at state parks.
